Mamma Maria’s Restaurant & Pizzeria is an Elmhurst institution which has been serving fine quality pizzas and pastas for over 26 years. It was one of the first pizzerias in this area to offer panzerotti.

They've also made a name for thin-crust pizzas, specialty items such as a white pizza topped with artichokes and basil, and a full line of Italian pastas. You can choose to dine in, take out or have your food delivered.

Mamma Maria’s has a small dining area with roughly 5-6 tables. What they lack in table mass they certainly balance with some of the best Italian dishes and pizza served fast and freshly prepared. They are mostly known for take out and delivery offering you some of best food found in Elmhurst.

Between the two owners, Jim and Phil, one is always on location and they are quick to remember a name, come up and say "hi," or if too busy, yell their greeting from the kitchen. Their stewardship extends through every one of their employees who take deep pride in being a part of the best of the best. Many of Elmhurst’s finest kids got their first work experience becoming a part of the Mamma Maria’s team. From the young lady or lad who answers the phone and takes your order, to the pizza chef preparing that evening fresh ingredients, every staff member works in concert to help orchestrate a great tasty meal for you and your family.

One of the best testaments of how the two owners care for their business; some of these employees have been on staff for upwards of ten years – and that says a lot. (Oh as for the Elmhurst high school students,) it’s not un-common that as they have matured, moved onto college days and subsequently returned to town on break or after school; and that they return to Mamma Maria’s - not as employees but as customers. Now what does that say?

At Mamma Maria’s Elmhurst they make their spaghetti sauce from scratch. It has that homemade smell and taste to it. They have all the standard pasta's such as spaghetti and gnocchi. All pastas for take away come with a pre-buttered bread roll. The dinner menu has ribs, eggplant parmesan and breaded shrimp. However, it's the pizza menu that makes Mamma Maria’s customers fiercely loyal. Made to order these pizzas come in 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18-inch sizes. Catering is available and they always welcome (small) parties. The casual dining, popular with families, offers seats for about 30.

And do save some room for the desserts, they are also fantastic. The tiramisu is homemade and the cannolis are made fresh when you order. You won’t go wrong!

Prices are fair, the service exceptional and the atmosphere, a dash of old and new. You will enjoy becoming a Mamma Maria’s regular. They are open from 4pm to 11pm Monday through Thursday; from 4pm to 1am Friday and Saturday, and from 4pm to 10pm Sunday.
